The Championship is Happy Waves at its most alive. For one weekend each June, the pool becomes a competitive arena — lanes taped, timers ready, spectators three-deep along the edge — and swimmers who spend the rest of the year training quietly get to see what they are made of.
This year: 84 swimmers across seven age groups — Under-10 juniors on the blocks for the first time, Masters swimmers in their sixties running on decades of muscle memory and morning ritual.
The event is intentionally non-elite. There are no qualifying times, no minimum speeds, no barriers beyond a willingness to enter. The point is not to find the fastest swimmer in Agra. The point is to give every swimmer who has been training in this pool a moment to race — and to discover what they are capable of when it counts.
Three students from our competitive coaching programme qualified for the District Championship based on their times here. The pool has never been louder than it was when their results were announced.
